I like both sites. I like how eBay allows you to bid your own price and now offer a price to sellers for purchases, but I also like Amazon for the low prices for used items. I haven't has any problems with either site, but still am very careful of who I purchase items from. I like the feedback ratings on both, but the eBay feedback section has a little more details of the item and the problem.
