I wouldn't say that Apple's products are overrated or even overpriced. The company might charge a premium compared to other manufacturers but for good reason. Apple's products are unbeatable in the quality department, and the products have respectable hardware and software inside them. I don't use Apple's tech products right now, but I've used them all in the past. If you're looking for an attractive device that runs smoothly and won't break down in the near future, then the company's PCs, laptops, phones, and tablets are nearly unbeatable. Apple offers great customer service on its devices, too. You have peace of mind and a great experience with most Apple devices, as far as I'm concerned. I'm not an Apple fanboy by any means, but the company knows what it's doing.
I honestly don't think they are overrated either because for the price you pay, you get REALLY good stuff. My boyfriend told me this prior to me getting my first mac; buying an Apple laptop, or any Apple product, is like an investment. The amount of money I would've spent on anti-virus stuff as well as Microsoft Word/etc, along with all the other stuff that Apple laptops comes with already will pretty much equal to the price of what an Apple laptop would be, maybe even more. I'm glad I got a Mac though because prior to this I was a hardcore PC user and was kinda skeptical that Mac was any better. I don't think I'll be able to go back to using a PC again.
I don't think that Apple products are overrated however I do think that they are overpriced. For the same price of an Apple product you can purchase an equivalent piece of technology from another company that is much cheaper or more powerful hardware wise. I think the software of Apple products is where it shines. After using both Windows and Macs I'll just say that both are good at what they do but both do some things differently. The difference is what makes people have preference over one or the other.
