I know someone that always prefers to pay full price on items they're going to be giving as gifts for example, which I find a bit strange. Even if it's a buy one get one free type of offer they don't take the free one, just pay for the one they want. I think this seems a bit careless with money to be honest. The only time I'll ever really look for something full price, or rather not bother checking if I could get it cheaper, would be for example if work was paying for something - uniform or something like that. Then I'd be more inclined to just pay full price if I was getting reimbursed. Otherwise they might reduce the amount I'm able to spend on things, and if those deals weren't available the next time around I may not have enough to cover the cost of the uniform.
Even after racking my brain for things I'd rather pay full price for, I honestly can't think of anything I am someone who kind of lives for sales, so no matter what the product is, if I can get the quality item for less than the normal price, I'm happy! It doesn't really matter to me if I pay full price or sales price for a gift (or if I receive a gift that was on sale) because I don't think the point of a gift is how much you spent on it. Knowing somebody found me an item I love that they also saved money on is perfect! I think if someone was reimbursing me for it, I probably wouldn't mind paying the full price/getting a more expensive version...
Well if I really need to buy something and no sale or discount is in sight, then I guess I would have to pay for the full price of the item that I want or need. I have no problem paying the full price when it comes to electronic items.
The only time I would pay full price for something or even a little more is for a service. If for example I hire someone to do some repairs or some other job at home and they do a much better job than I expected [them to] then I'd not only pay full price for their services [even if I'd negotiated a discount] but I'd probably even pay a little more. It's a great way to encourage people to do an even better job next time you hire them. For everything else I'll only pay full price for something only if I can't get a discount or better deal elsewhere.
I seriously cannot think of anything that I want to pay full price for. I see no reason to pay full price for something and if you are giving it as a gift why does it have to be full price? Gifts are about the thoughts behind the gift not the price. How are people going to know you paid full price unless you tell them anyway? I would say that is wasteful especially if it is BOGO and you don't take the free one. If you don't want two then give it to a friend or family member. The manufacturers are making their money as well as the business you are buying from so take the free one.
I don't mind paying full price if the item is worth it or if the knockoff version is highly inferior in quality. My mom used to be a stickler for savings, and although it was pretty useful and effective at times, I will never forget the discomfort I experienced when using cheap one-ply toilet paper. If a good item is on sale and I need it, I will certainly buy it. But if I have to pay full price in order to get the optimal experience, I'm not skimping for the sake of savings.
I don't really think I ever pay full price for anything. I don't prefer to pay full price for things either. The only thing I pay full price for it probably a fancy dinner or if I am taking friends out for drinks. Most of the time we go for Happy Hour and we all prefer to save, so it is a rare occasion when I do pay full price.
There are only a few things I am a brand snob about. Most things, I will go for whichever brand I have a coupon for, the bran that is on sale, or the generic brand if it is the cheapest. A few things, I just have to have my brand I like. In some rare instances, I will pass the competition's sale up to get the brand I really prefer. This is usually just a matter of strong taste preference. Some of us will pass up a half priced Pepsi for a full priced Coca Cola, for example. Some people I know are extremely brand specific for much of their purchasing preferences. They seem to like the familiarity of using the same brands and know what to expect as far as consistency in quality. I am quite adventurous in trying new products and brands though, so I will go for the deal ninety-five percent of the time.
For new releases I'm often willing to pay a little more than retail, but never have I considered paying more than the lowest price that the market is offering. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford such behavior haha.
I shopped online just recently and Opted to pay full price because the available coupon at the time had a minimum amount to purchase which I could have easily reached but as of now I didn't feel much like shelling out that much cash so I just decided not to go for the coupon and get the regular prices instead and pay a lower amount because I didn't force myself to shop more. I thought about it and ultimately even though the accumulated discount was good I just reminded myself that individually the item discounts wouldn't have amounted to that much and forcing myself to bulk shop just because of that coupon wasn't worth it for me all that much this time.
