The cost of animal feeds is behind the rising cost of beef and dairy products amongst myriads of other farm products. This is especially so with the case of dairy meal. A farmer can cut the cost of dairy products by growing such products as desmodium and calliandra which provide animals with high levels of proteins. The farmer is free to concentrate on providing the animals with energy giving foods and minerals which are relatively inexpensive.
