We've probably all seen that TV show extreme couponing on TLC and I sometimes get inspired to do that same thing but then get a bit frustrated because I have a hard time getting the hang of it. I think it's more because it can be difficult getting enough coupons, for me anyway. For those of you who coupon do you get them from coupon clipping services and how much do you pay for shipping and handling? You see people on the show whipping out hundreds of coupons for one item, and I'm like WHERE are they getting ALL these coupons!?
I am the same way I see women at the stores with a binder full of coupons and i'm like how in the world do you do it lol
I also always wonder how people even have time to cut out all these coupons and dedicate their time to this. I did however meet a lady who has done this on every shopping trip and she made it sound so easy as well. There are many online companies that will send new coupons to your email address and all you have to do is cut them out and use them in the store. It probably feels amazing to save as we all know but this is a new level(haha).
For a coupon clipping service like The Coupon Clippers, you pay 8 cents or 10 cents depending on the face value of the coupon. The minimum order is $3. I don't remember how much I paid for shipping, but it was very low and they combine shipping, so it's cheaper to order more coupons in one shipment.
Couponing takes patience, if you buy stuff you don't usually use you are wasting money. I find ecoupons easy, because I can get my husband to coupon with the Kroger store card. (I could not get him to lug around coupons
If you look at some of the the episodes, some people order their coupons online like I do, some people buy multiple Sunday newspapers, some people have all their friends save the coupon section for them, and some people dumpster dive for coupons or search the neighborhood recycling bins.
I have watched couple episodes in Jamaica, and what I get to find out is that some of these women get several Sunday newspapers and clip as coupons as possible. Some of them even go as far as diving into the dumpsters, and getting these Sunday newspapers that people sometimes throw out. I even saw one woman on an episode go to people's houses and collect Sunday newspapers from people's houses. And, of course, they go online and print out as many coupons as they possibly can. So, they're very dedicated at doing what they do. It's really amazing to see how seriously they take their couponing.
