I have not purchased either of the new game consoles yet, and I do not plan on purchasing one in the near future. I have an Xbox 360 that suits my household's needs perfectly. The games for Xbox 360 are still perfectly relevant, and we also use it to stream Netflix and other television apps such as ESPN. I really like our Xbox 360, so much so that even if we did purchase a new gaming system, we would probably keep it.
Yes, gaming can be a boat load of fun, and can really help one to de-stress. But unfortunately in life, other things - that are less pleasurable - come first on the priority list. So I completely understand where you are coming from. It doesn't help when you know that eventually - and pretty fast - the console will be obsolete, because of the console that comes out next.
