I am a regular consumer of Dabur honey and have been buying honey from Dabur for several years. The last bottle I purchased does not taste of honey but jaggery treacle. I have written to customer care but have received no response. I have not given up but somehow want to bring that to the notice of those who are in charge of quality control. Do you eat honey?
I have used honey for my bread spread, as a sweetener for my hot lemon juice. I bought it from a local Chinese store. It is locally produced here in our place. I have tried to purchase an imported honey particularly produced in New Zealand and it's expensive compared to the local one. I have using honey for several years and I hadn't found any problem about. It's quality is no question.
I like Billie Bee because of it's cute bear shaped squeeze bottle. I also get coupons of it on my news paper. It tasted like generic honey. Sometimes I go to farmer's market and buy honey fresh from the comb. It had no brand since it is organic honey raised by farmers.
I just found out a place here where they are marketing honey from different sources. I am going to try that source out. Dabur has not disappointed me but their silence this time is a bit disappointing
I usually buy the cheaper honey-like "Orange Blossom Honey", which they sell in the stores in North florida where I live. They harvest this honey in the springtime when the orange trees(central and south florida) are in blossom,but I really like another honey that they harvest in my area and no other place in the world. That being Tupelo honey and it is harvested where the tupelo tree grows and flowers,around the water. They say this Tupelo honey is very good for diabetics wordwide, because it has a low content of glucose- and so they can use it to sweeten their food with it. It has a floral scent,a hint of rose,its earthy tasting and no bitterness, so just pure sweetness. They made a movie about this honey called "Ulee's Gold"-Peter Fonda plays a beekeeper.
I never buy the commercial honey in the stores. Instead I buy raw honey from my aunt, who is a beekeeper, since I know that she sells quality honey. The best thing is, it's actually cheaper to buy it from her than in the stores. Commercial honey is almost always absolutely awful in quality, and sometimes even borderline unhealthy, containing antibiotics, sugar etc.
Honey is really expensive, but the honey sold at supermarkets it mostly sugar, so it's not real honey. I am fortunate enough to know honey producers and to buy directly from them. So, it has no brand, it's not very cheap, but it's delicious and healthy!
I have once or twice tasted dabur honey, however, I did not like it. I buy honey directly from the bee keepers. I not only get best honey but also for the cheapest price. It looks limkedabur honey is made from sugar solution. I don't like purified honey, I like the taste of raw honey therefore I directly buy from farmers.
That must be pure and cheap honey Creating a movie only shows there was joy producing that honey. We had that source a few years ago where a seminary had that arrangement where they used to extract honey from areca nut flowers. They had a huge farm then.
I like Dabur honey but this batch seems to have a problem. I have taken up the issue and I think I will be given a replacement. But I have told them that they should stop selling that batch.
I've never heard of Dabur honey.. In the past I wasn't a big fan of honey until I got a stomach ulcer due to h.pylori infection. This is the bacteria which causes chronic gastritis and ulcers. A friend told me about the strong antibiotic properties of Manuka honey - it is produced in New Zealand and it supposedly kills h.pylori. Producers of Manuka honey have developed a scale for rating its potency. The rating is called UMF, which stands for Unique Manuka Factor. The higher the UMF is - the stronger the antibacterial power of the honey is. I started eating it and my gastric symptoms improved within 2-3 days. After two weeks I was healed. I had a second gastroscopy, which confirmed no signs of h.pylori in my stomach. I had not taken any meds, I'd eaten only the Manuka miracle. Ever since I've been eating Manuka honey once in a while as a preventative measure.
When my sister lived out in the country she used to get pure honey from a guy who kept bees. She doesn't like honey so I got it free as she would just give it to me. Now she lives somewhere else so I can't get it any more. I love honey and will buy anything that is going although I don't think I have seen Dabur honey over here. I have to admit that as long as it's edible I will eat any brand and I've never come across any that I don't like. It satisfies my sweet tooth.
As long as the honey that one takes is pure that can help one maintain good health. After a lot of follow up the Dabur Rep turned up at my place yesterday and agreed with my analysis, after tasting the honey. They will replace that bottle but I said they should stop marketing that batch
Being edible is not the issue but being pure is. Honey is normally taken for maintaining good health and if it is adulterated it will be of no use.
My husband and I love putting honey on our pancakes. I am not familiar with this brand, but we use a local brand here in my country and it tastes delicious.
Wow, they came to you!? Now that's what I call good customer service. In my country there's nothing that can make a merchant/seller come to your place and apologize if you're dissatisfied with their product. Usually the customer has to go to the seller and make a scene in order to get a refund or get the product replaced. Have you already gotten the new bottle? How does the honey taste?
I used to buy the cheap honey in plastic bottles that look like recycled water bottles. When a news report about fake honey came out, those cheap honey had changed their label, not pure honey anymore but synthetic honey. Now I buy the brand Sue Bee Clover Honey which is real honey that is pure. And although it is expensive because it is imported from the US, at least I am assured of genuine honey that I take a tablespoon every morning.
I have yet another issue with an online purchase of an item. They said it was 300 grams in the specifications but I only got 100 grams and their argument was that the image mentions the quantity. Anyway after haggling they have offered a refund and take back the stuff.
Dabur is known to market pure honey but this batch does not seem to be pure. There are tests that we can perform and this honey passed the test. That test it seems no longer holds water.
@iamawriter, I stopped using Dabur honey long ago when I realised that the honey was not pure as it started crystallising too soon. I mostly buy Patanjali honey which is quite good quality and comparatively very economical as compared to Dabur's. Recently, a friend whose husband is a distributor or specialised Unani prodcuts from Hyderabad, gave me a bottle of Bharat honey as a present. It is a small bottle, plenty expensive but the honey is awesome! It is the purest variety you can find in India and when the bottle is left to rest you can even see tiny pollens at the edge of the honey and the bottle rim. You can buy it on Amazon. Log In Also, if you have heard of it, honey produced by Satmaha, Maharashtra is also of good quality and comes in different flavors depending on flowers the bees are reared on.
