I usually buy my cat food at our local pet shop, as it's literally just along the street from my home. Today however, I was looking online for pet products, and I noticed that I can buy the same brand of food about 25% cheaper than it costs locally. Despite the convenience of living so close to the pet shop, I can't see another reason to pay so much extra when it's available online, and can be delivered right to my door. Do you buy your pet food online or at the store?
It's always cheaper to buy pet food online because they have less overhead costs, so they can afford to sell it at a cheaper price. I used to buy my pet food at the supermarket when I was still feeding my cat pet food, and I think they're cheaper as compared to when you will buy it at pet stores.
I would definitely use to supermarket if I could, but my fussy cat will only eat a certain brand, which I can only get from the pet shop. The good thing about buying from a specialist shop is that they're quite knowledgeable, so I can ask them questions if I need to. Mind you, you do pay extra for the service.
No I don't because of shipping to where I live is usually expensive. If I lived in the continental US where you tend to get free shipping then I would.
Yes, I get my dog's pet food online. It's both more convenient to buy it online, as the package is really heavy, and they usually offer good coupons where I buy them for 10 or 15%. I cannot get those coupons on store, so it's much better for me.
It depends on what I am buying and how much I need. I like to buy at the store because it is a small local pet boutique and I want the business to do well. Sometimes though I will buy it online because the cans and bags of food can become too much to carry or even shove into a cab. The online prices are better but that isn't too much of an incentive for me to buy online, I prefer physical shops.
I have started to buy our puppy food online from Amazon since Christmas. We have quite a bit of snow here in Michigan, and I couldn't get out on most days. I fell in love with the idea of having the dog food delivery to my door as I don't have to worry about the weight of the bag, getting out on slippery road, paying taxes at the local store, and carrying it from the car to the house. Besides all of these advantages, I also found that I saved so much more money (around 10-15 bucks difference) from buying dog food online for the same exact product than from all the stores in my area. I have only ordered my dog food online from then on.
I do not buy pet foods online. Instead I buy foods from the local petshop near my place. I like buying in the local pet clinic since they have a resident vet.where I can ask if my pet dog, cat and fish have a sickness and also to make sure that the food that I buying for my pet are appropriate.
This is an interesting idea to me. I have never bought pet food online, but would be interested in looking. I usually buy generic pet food, so I'm not sure if the price online would be better than a generic bag at a grocery store or farm supply store, but I need some soon so maybe I should look online before buying. I also like the idea of not having to lug the bag out to the car after buying it at a store! Are there certain websites that are better than others? I will probably start with Amazon, but does anyone have a different recommendation?
Sometimes, we do. It depends on the situation, and if the food will end up being cheaper even with the shipping or not. So, when we're usually only doing that when we're ordering something already.
Nope. I just buy pet foods at Walmart. Buying things online involves paying for shipping and waiting. I'm not willing to wait for pet food to be shipped. Sometimes I run out of food and need to buy it immediately. Saving a couple of dollars isn't worth waiting a week for shipping.
