Consumerism has emerged as a part of a historical process that has created mass markets, industrialization, and cultural attitudes that ensure rising incomes are used to purchase an ever-growing output. Do consumerism have some positive effects on society?
I think those who benefit more from consumerism are the rich people in society. But overall, consumerism creates more jobs. This is because the market will need to employ more people who can neet the high demand of consumers. The other importance is that there will be low standards of living. This is because prices of commodities will be lowered so as to encourage more purchase.
I think consumerism to some extent is a good thing. Because it creates jobs. And it can put food on table. And it can also have it's set of the issues in due time. I have learned that some of the things with the consumerism have it's set of issues. So some of the time it's better not to take part in consumerism and approach frugal lifestyle. And some of the time we have to get into the consumerism.
Well simply put consumeism makes everyone important. Whether you're a millionaire or low income, you are a consumer or a buyer. This one part of consumerism will secure peace for instead of conquer or be conquered which gets very old, very fast, for no one likes dying very much, so consumerism, which makes everyone important, so as to not waste time about destruction or else, for everyone is important buyer, so life is more important than bullying for most are intelligent and would rather choose life than war & death. This is why one part of consumerism very important, to preserve and get rich, ultimately. Unfortunately this doesn't mean that madman don't exist that will try conquer or be conquered such as the situation with N. Korea, who has violated a lot of U. N. laws.
