Hello everyone, I want to assume the Ebola virus is no more news; but just in case you've not heard anything about it, I'm going to give you a brief low-down on the virus.

Ebola virus is a very deadly virus that was discovered in 1976. It kills withing a few days, and is highly contagious. It comes with symptoms similar to those of flu, cholera, malaria and typhoid. There is an outbreak of this disease now in 2014, precisely in West Africa, but like I said earlier, had been discovered since 1976.

Precisely, the signs and symptoms of the virus in the body includes:

    Fever

    headache

    joint and muscle aches

    weakness

    diarrhoea

    vomiting

stomach pain and lack of appetite

The above signs may be followed by bleeding from different parts of the body, like the eyes, nose, and anus.

It's going to be quite a long write-up if I continue, but please read it up online, and let's keep ourselves informed about this virus here. I highly welcome your contributions. Thanks

Thanks for the post. I read about this last week and it's pertinent for people to recognize the symptoms and be aware of Ebola. I don't see it spreading across the entire world, as the mainstream news have been playing into this fear. I don't find it entertaining or exciting considering the fact lives are being lost every day to this disease. The more education people have about Ebola, the better it will be for us to take measures to prevent ourselves and love ones from coming down with the illness.

Hi May102014, I think you're absolutely right. People need to be aware of the symptoms of this virus. I also concur with the fact that the disease will not spread across the entire world, as several precautionary measures are already in place. It's reported though, that some of the health professionals deployed to a certain African country to offer assistance have been infected and killed by the virus. It really surprises me that a virus that was discovered way-back in 1976, has just decided to outbreak in 2014. What has caused this outbreak? I can't say.

All-in-all, I think the masses need to be aware of this virus, and it's potential to kill and kill fast.

Anyways, thanks for stopping by; and thank you so much for your contribution. I really appreciate.

    Update on the Ebola Virus.

The photo below shows the hand of a recently infected patient. I hate this.

It's shocking how this disease seemingly just broke out of nowhere. I know Ebola has been here for a long time but I've never heard it spread so quickly. Fortunately, the virus still hasn't spread to my country yet. I've not heard of updates on the outbreak since last week, I hope it won't become another pandemic like H1N1.

The only way to prevent the virus from spreading is by testing all passengers traveling from West Africa for Ebola. It's always good to take the appropriate precautions rather than make assumptions that the virus won't spread elsewhere and regret later when someone who's infected spreads it to others.

;)Hi daimashin, you're extremely funny. I can feel the excitement in your spirit, as you declare that Ebola is still outside the walls of your country. I really rejoice with you. For some of us however, the virus has found it's way in. In fact, a man from Liberia who came into my country for a conference had the virus. He died in one of the hospitals about 2 days later, infecting a lot of people, even the medical doctors. Many in the hospital died in the process. Everyone who survived in the hospital was eventually quarantined for examination.

It's really pathetic. God is in charge, anyways.

Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing. I really appreciate.

Hi Denis Hard, you have a very good point there. Testing visitors (not even just from west africa. In fact, I'm beginning to have a feeling that this virus might be in certain other continents of the world, but has not just become an epidemic in those areas) to countries right from the airports and bus stations before they are allowed in. Every country should be cautious of this. This virus is terrible, and kills really fast.

Anyways, thanks for your time, brother. I appreciate.

Hi SeanM, you're very correct. It's possible that the man in question has infected a host of others with the virus, without their knowing it. That's why I suggest people the world over be cautious as far as this virus is concerned. No continent or nation is completely shielded from this. The world needs to be alert.

Thank you SeanM for your contribution. I really appreciate.
