How much do you typically spend on a case for your gadgets? I know the prices can vary a lot, and some people have the ability to pay a lot, or don't mind spending more if they think the product is worth it. I have several gadgets right now, and I always use cases that will protect them from falls, since I'm clumsy. I also tend to use silicone cases, because although they don't usually advertise them as such, they have protected my gadgets in the past when exposed to water.

I paid about $10-12 for the case on my tablet, and much less for a smaller device, although I just received that, and it's much less substantial than the Head Case I paid $10 - $12 for, so I guess it's true that you get what you pay for. I had to buy a cheaper case than I wanted for my Kindle Touch, so it's a bit cumbersome, but it does serve the purposes of protecting the device and providing light so I can read in the dark.

I usually purchase my cases / covers on eBay, although I have purchased a few in the past at Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.

How much do you typically pay for your gadget cases? Where do you buy them?

Well interesting you should bring this up Diane Lane. It seems like you can spend as much or as little on cases for these gadgets as you want. I recently bought a case for my kindle at the 5 below store. I cheaped out on the case,,because I am not really sure how necessary they are. However, one time I had the kindle in my purse, and got some sort of gum or something on the screen, so I thought I should get something. I paid only 3.49 for the case, and at the time I thought I was being clever, but I broke a couple of the elastic bands in trying to get it off the cardboard so now it is only half functional. I am too far away from the store to try to exchange it, so now, I have no option but to live with it. I think a happy medium between the ultra cheap and the overly expensive is the way to go.10 to 12 per case sounds good.

Which Kindle do you have? I got the case with the light on it, since I have a Kindle touch, which doesn't have the backlight. I think the PaperWhite does, but that was too expensive for me, at least right now. I'll probably ultimately upgrade to one with the backlight, so I can get a less bulky case, or I might just upgrade my case to the official Kindle case that has the built in light. That was a little more expensive than the one I got, but it looks much more streamlined.

It is a Kindle fire. I don't intend to spend any more money on cases. I don't take it out in public that often anyway. IF I do, I can put it in my laptop case, or the case I bought, which is better than nothing. I use my kindle at home most of the time..but soetimes if I want to look something up or kill some time...or make a quick online entry, I will take it out of the house. It can be useful.

I'm not sure I'd keep my Kindle in the case if I took it out of the house, because as I mentioned, this case is somewhat bulky. It has an accordion type piece at the bottom that folds so you can stand it up, but I don't really use that, since I hold the reader in my hand, so it gets in the way, but occasionally it does come in handy, otherwise i'd simply lop it off. If I were stuck in a line at a store or waiting in a doctor's office, I wouldn't need the light anyway, so could just slip the kindle in my purse and go. I don't think I'd drop it. Actually, I have dropped it, of course on the tile floor, when out of the case, and it still works fine, thankfully. I don't bring my tablet with me when I go out usually, because even though it's a small one, it's heavy and larger than I'd want to be carrying out. Mainly I'd be using it for reading, so the Kindle solves that issue.
