My daughter and I have been considering possible home school curriculum that we could develop for my grandson. (He's only three, so we have a little bit of time.) Largely, we are going to use a state model for the subject progression, but I don't want to just stop at state standards. Are there any books or stories that you feel a child just shouldn't miss - fiction and non-fiction alike? So far, we've thought of Where the Sidewalk Ends, A Child's History of the World, Around the World in Eighty Days, Robin Hood, as well as the classic fairy tales. What would you suggest?
