I just bought a brand new smartphone, and I have been using it for a month now. However, it's charging time is quite long in my opinion. I charge it for 4 hours everyday, and even if I don't use it the whole day, it still gets totally drained. There was a time when I fully charged it, then I turned it off to see if the battery will last, and the next day I turned it on, but alas, the battery was still totally drained and it won't turn on at all. So I figured that whether or not I use the phone, the battery still gets drained anyway. Is this normal? How long you you charge your cellphone?
I usually charge my phone twice a day and it depends on how much I am using it. It charges for around an hour on average which I would say is pretty good considering how fast the battery tends to die. I usually put the lighting setting and I close all the apps to make the battery last longer but it still doesn't do anything. I am even considering investing in a portable solar battery to help my phone last longer throughout the day.
An hour of charging seems short, do you fully drain your battery first before charging it? Because it's not advisable to charge your phone when it's not yet fully drained, because doing so will reduce your battery life. Anyway, you can also just bring a spare battery with you, so that if ever your phone dies when you're out, you can still use your phone.
I can't remember the last time I charged my cell phone. I very rarely use my cell phone, I'm just not a phone person, haha. I send emails or speak face to face. My phone is very old, one of the first motion colour phones by Samsung.
I charge my phone for 3 hours and that lasts me around 3 days. I have a Nokia and in my experience the batteries on their phones are able to last for a couple of days on just a couple of hours charging if you only use it for texts and minimal tasks. If you play games and such then you'll need to charge it around 2 to 3 hours a day.
Some special uses of the phone, literally "eat" the battery in a short time, this makes most people should carry the charger everywhere they go, with the known risk of forgetting or losing it at some point. This occurs, for not having to run out of battery half a day or an important conversation. You have to know, the more you charge the phone, shorter battery life, that is, you have to connect the time needed for charging and for 6 hours straight. The charge any longer doesn't mean that lasting more, just that the battery should be replaced faster. When we load up the phone, the best thing is that it is off, so recharge faster and as we said, it will disconnect just finished charging. I believe that by following these simple tips you can improve performance of the battery of your phone.
What I read from other websites, it's not advisable to fully drain batteries, especially the lithium ones. You must charge it before it drains (such as only having one bar or indicating low bat). You should read the links below to help you how to properly take care of your phone's battery. When I'm not using my cellphone during a charge, it normally takes two hours. But when I'm using my phone while charging it could take up to 3 hours. Also, when I'm charging my cellphone on my laptop or netbook, it takes a longer period of time for the battery to be fully charged.
When the phones are still new, I do charge them for atleast 4 hours. However, there are time that I can even charge for only 30 minutes if need be. I've also realized that most smartphones consume alot of battery power than normal cellphones!
I'm using lithium polymer batteries, which is the upgraded version of lithium ion. I'm torn about those statements too, because I read in some websites that it's better to drain the battery of that type before charging. I've been draining all of my batteries before charging since I first started using them, and the lithium polymer one lasted for 2 years and 6 months, so I think I will go with my previous experience. Besides, I read that the modern batteries that we have now don't have that "memory effect" like the old Ni-MH batteries, so it's ok to charge them whether they are fully drained or not. I prefer to drain them though. Here's an article about li-ion batteries:Log In
My phone is the opposite. I can only charge it for a couple hours and the battery will be at 100% and last about 3 days if I don't use it very much. Also an Android smartphone.
That is the only reason that i don't like using smartphones. It needs charging frequently. Even if you don't use it often, the battery died soon. Sometimes i need to charge two times within one day.
I always try my best not to charge my phone overnight. That literally destroys your battery. I plug in the charger while I am still awake and I make sure when it says Battery full then I unplug it. But never charge it overnight.
Really? What brand are you using? I'm using a Sony Ericsson smartphone. Even if your phone is a non smartphone Sony Ericsson phone, it's battery life is still shorter as compared to a Nokia or a Blackberry phone. So I'm curious to know which smartphone brand's battery lasts that long.
It's a smartphone, and I still haven't seen a smartphone that lasts more than one day. Loads of things running in the background, loads of apps, etc. I have an old-school Nokia X2-00 and it takes about 2 hours for a full charge. The battery lasts 2-3 days with a normal use, 2 days with an intensive use.
I normally have a new phone every two years. I sell my old phone then get a new one. It's quite hard to keep up with technology these days. Companies just keep on innovating which results to the obsolescence of their prior products. I have no choice but to keep up because my work needs the current technology the market has to offer.
I don't have a smartphone, so my phone holds charge rather well because it doesn't have all the extra features for me to tinker with. I just charge my phone at night while I'm sleeping and I'm usually good to go for two days, assuming I don't talk on the phone for an hour+.
My phone doesn't take long to charge but I find myself recharging more often. I am amazed that a phone last for a couple days, I can just use Facebook for a second and my battery just drains. I just use it while on the charger sometimes.
On average I would say I change my cell phone every eight months but that is because I am very clumsy and normally break it by then. I normally buy a replacement from my brother who buys the latest phones, uses them for a month and then sells them on.
