What do you think about this latest Apple gadget? I am a little bit skeptical and I don't think that it will get much popular unless it has some special features that can't be found on other devices...

It will get some popularity because it's apple. Simple as that.
But no, I really don't see the point in getting one.

As a matter of fact, I don't see the point in getting a single smart watch. It's basically a smartphone attached to your wrist, and seeing as I prefer the functionality of a smart phone I'd rather have that one instead. I think these are mainly meant for those really passionate about new technology.

I didn't know they were developing a smartwatch of their own. I had previously presumed they were above that since it looked to me as kind of just a trend. That said, I think if a company were to do this gadget the right way, it would probably be them. I imagine they would be able to integrate it with their other products like Apple TV, which I think would provide for some convenience. Like I said, though, I personally see it as just being a fad, and unless I see something unique from their take on the product, I'd be highly disappointed in them.

I think the strength of their fitness apps will be the tipping point. There are plenty of reasonable devices and apps out there for fitness activities, but if a smartwatch can bundle them well and produce more consistent and valuable results, people are going to buy it all day long.

It certainly looks really good and I'm considering getting one. They will be great for running and doing various fitness activities. The design of it is really cool, and it will be a lot easier than carrying my phone around with me when running. Does anyone know if it will have heartbeat monitor functions?

It will be overpriced and overhyped, as are all Apple products. As for getting sales, it will set many records for being the "first smartwatch" simply because it has the Apple brand on it. I can see people purchasing them just so they can say that they own an iWatch, but in the long run I do not think they will do well. If they are as fragile as fragile as the rest of their products they will break on the slightest of contacts, and for a watch that could be crushing to them. We will just have to wait and see.

I'm more intrigued by the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Fit, which are some new fabulous wearable products with plenty of great features that Samsung are set to release soon. I'm not too big on the iWatch and I'm not even sure how it's going to work out for Apple, much less how it's going to be any better or different than what's already out there. And like firestarian says, Apple products are fragile but yet still seem to be overpriced. But that is likely not going to stop their buyers from shelling out the cash for them. I hope Samsung and Pebble stay at the top of the smartwatch market to be honest. I'm also interested in a smartwatch from HTC, which is being reported to be coming out around the Christmas holidays.

I am so looking forward to the iWatch. I'm sure I will love it. I always struggle in holding my iPhone and it's very inconvenient when I have to go for a jog or I have to go to the gym. I think having it on your wrist is really a great idea. Also, it seems to be the very first ever smart accessory that I have seen.

I just hope it won't be too pricey but I'm really willing to save up for it.
