The price of milk has fluctuated for the last couple years. I'm not even sure how one day it costs $2.79 to the next day costing $4.49 a gallon. I personally don't like milk all that much but I sure have to have it for my cereal and brownies when I make them. My kids could go through a gallon every two days if I let them. How much is milk currently where you are at? Here in Eastern KY, its $3.49 gallon.
It's been fluctuating the last 10 years, it seems. I feel like it directly correlates with the price of gas actually. When we see a huge jump in gas prices, the milk prices go up, too. I don't know what the current price is because I don't buy it that often either. I do know that when it spiked high a few years back, though, I switched over to keep dry milk in my cupboard. I would never just drink it (ew!!) but for baking and sauces, it's perfectly good as a substitute.
