How important it is to apply moisturizer on your skin? People say that if we have dry skin, it will get oily. If you are using one, which type of moisturizer do you think is effective?
I use moisturizers and will continue to because my skin looks better and more vibrant when it is moisturized as opposed to dry. I have combination skin that can be prone to break outs if I am not careful so it has been a bit of a trial to figure out which moisturizers work best. During the day I use sunscreen which doubles as a moisturizer. In the evenings of the warmer months I use a gel moisturizer I have found there is little difference between drug store and high end. In the evenings of the cooler months I can tend to get away with a "regular" moisturizer. When it comes to body moisturizer I tend to use what smells nice, a heavier consistency in the cooler months and something a little lighter in the summer.
I used to buy moisturisers in the past, but these days I only ever use coconut oil as an external moisturizer. I drink up to three litres of water every day to keep my skin moist and plump from the inside. Also, I take a spoonful of linseed oil every morning and evening.
I have dry skin. It seems to get drier the older I get. I do use moisturizers and lotions. There are moisturizers designed for dry skin that don't leave the skin oily. I have tried using coconut oil. It is a great moisturizer, but I do get that oily look and feel. Coconut oil has worked wonders on my feet though.
I use Clean & Clear moisturizer in the mornings and I also use it as a primer for my make-up! Works great and helps keep my skin smooth.
I live in a tropical country, so my skin doesn't really get dry. I noticed that I only tend to put on lotion during the "ber" months, and not all "ber months are cold, over here at least. So right now, I don't really use one, since I have oily skin to begin with.
