I know this particular deal is way-expired, but are home-breweries a better deal? That is, how much do you have to drink to 'break-even' (making up for the costs (that of the kit & -of the ingredients) in savings from not having to drive to the bar or store & -from not having to buy the finished beer)? Or are there savings?
I think that home breweries are a better deal depending on how much you drink. Plus, part of the fun of a home brewery is learning how to make your own recipes and figure out different combinations. This might not always make the beer cheaper but it's more about loving the process rather than doing it as simply a way to save money.
