Anybody else not so impressed with Apple's announcements today for the iPad Air and mini iPad with retina display. Investors in Apple stock weren't impressed either, as it dropped. My biggest complaint is that neither product really offers anything new. Sure, iPad Air is light, but the iPad and mini are already pretty light. As well, they're keeping all the older versions of each iPad, so why would I buy the new one's? I was really hoping that they'd come out with a tv or at least a watch or something innovative.
I think they're running out of ideas. They really should have eased up on releasing new versions long ago so their novelty wouldn't dry up as quickly. They still do make top quality products, so they will probably always have a place in the market. I only heard of this product from this post, which I think shows how much people aren't talking about this, as compared to their previous releases. From the name, I was also expecting something much thinner, but if it's much lighter, I guess that's something.
Apple has been doing this year after year. They make their products just a little bit lighter and they make the screen resolution a little bit sharper. I dunno what's with apple nowadays. But the customers still keep on purchasing their products because it's made by Apple. That's why I'm sticking exclusively to Samsung nowadays. Come back Steve Jobs. I think the company is losing its focus once again.
Very disappointing, I really don't get the whole fuss behind tablets despite trying one so I have pretty much 0% interest in this. Hoping for the day when Apple releases something new.
I'm falling out of love with apple. I hate how they release the 'next big' phone, and everyone wants it and buys it. But in 6 months time, they have released another new 'must have version' and your previous 'must have phone' is now already out of date. Why can't they just create a beautiful product that is stunning and the best it can be right from the start. Instead of releasing a retina version, then a lighter version. It just doesn't make any sense to me. If I owned apple I would be focused on creating the best looking and best functioning products on the market, and making sure they last for at least 5 years and maybe only release a new one each 2/3 years. If they went down that route, I would definitely buy a phone of tablet from them. But for now, I'm staying clear of Apple. I'm not willing to waste £700 on a phone that will either be broke or out of date in less than 12 months time.
I agree. I think the majority of keep releasing new products is that it wants customers to buy the latest products. I think that's the reason Apple keep updating its IPhones every single year because I really don't see that much of a change. Apple, in fact, is losing a lot of customers just for that because who would want to buy a new gadget when they find out that the next upgrade will be released within one year. I'm with you, I'm sticking with Samsung, which I think it is so much better in terms of innovation and high-end technology.
I honestly wonder how long Apple can keep going with the iPad fad. They released the iPad, the iPad 2, the "New iPad", the iPad Mini, the iPad not mini but still new iPad, the retina iPad, the other iPad, and now the iPad Air which is literally the same but now it weighs slightly less. It's still the most popular tablet on the market, but there's only so many things they can do with it before they're out of ideas for real. I guess they could turn it into the new Macbook line and model them by year, with only minor hardware improvements in each version.
Well, their motivation behind their frequent and unnecessary product releases are just to get added profit. And the Apple addicted public are quick to buy their products. That's why I was never really an Apple fan from the start.
