I own two pairs of Red Wing boots, the chukka boot and the moc toe boot.

These boots are bulletproof, they improve with wear and they will last a very long time. Made in the USA with quality local leather, triple stitched, vibram sole and a goodyear welt construction. You can buy them at discounted prices from the Red Wing factory in Minnesota.

I have a pair of Red Wing motorcycle boots, also known as Engineer Boots.
They are pretty tough and they should last. The soles are good for use as a motorcycle rider boot. They were a bit pricy and I have to say well they are good on the bike but they aren't exactly the boots I would pick to walk any
    distances in.
More uncomfortable than most of the steel toe workboots I have had. And these do not even have steel toes.

They are not hiking boots, they are work boots. Mine are very comfortable, they take a while to be worn in but after that they feel great.

I wouldn't pay RRP but they can be bought on offer, at half price they represent decent value in my opinion. A cheaper option would be Thorogood, although the quality isn't quite as good.
