I keep the faucet off when I don't need it this also applies when I am showering. When I'm brushing the water must be off until I am ready to rinse. When showering I turn of the water when I am applying soap or shampoo. There is no need to have the faucets on when not in use, I remember I used to forget to do so but now I am concious of the damage I was doing.
