When you travel most hotels have higher weekend rates. One trick I usually use is to leave and arrive on a Sunday night. This means the rooms are cheaper. Then I leave on Friday morning before the rates go up. This is a great trick which has saved me a bundle on hotel rooms!

I have actually found that this same principle works for most travel needs. Flights tend to be cheaper when you are going on weekdays etc. I think this is because really it can be so difficult for most people to get off enough time from work to go those days, so these companies are willing to give people deals to keep them going on these days.
