Does anyone here own a WDTV media player? The WDTV media player is a device similar to Roku. It has pre installed apps such as, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Instant. It also allows you to playback media files stored on your computer through DNLA, or from your external HDD through USB. I am currently in the market for a new media player, and I saw this device on Amazon. I thought this would be a good place to get a review before I purchase it. Does any one know anything about the performance of the WDTV player?
I used to own a WD Tv player and I can safely say that it is pretty efficient at the job it is meant to do. I got rid of it after a year's use. This is due to the reason that I discovered Roku which has a lot more features than the WDTV player and is cheaper than it. So, I would also recommend you to go for a Roku player over the WDTV player. i would also suggest you to look at the Chromecast too.
I think the best feature of the WDTV player is that it comes with a Hard drive. That is why they cost more than the Roku. However i don't use either of them. use the NeoTV. I find that it fits my needs the best compared to all of it's competitors. i like the simplicity of of it. It does not have all of those complicated features. It does exactly what i need it to do, and that is enough for me.
