With cold weather around the corner, I'm looking for some movie night suggestions. We've done most of the Disney Pixar stuff. Something older would be great. My kids actually like musicals, sports themes are also great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My fiancee and I always have our Saturday night movie night. We always talk about if we have kids what films would we watch. I think the best family-friendly films are: - Mr. Blanding builds his dream house - The Thin Man - Singin' in the Rain - Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - Grand Illusion - North by Northwest - The Devil and Daniel Webster - 12 Angry Men - Swing Time I have many others, but this list should suffice.
Homeward bound Home alone Honey, I shrunk the kids Dennis Look who's talking now 1 & 2 Wow, there are some really great films from my child hood that I need to own copies of, thinking about it.
Thanks for the suggestions, we haven't seen any these. This should keep us busy all winter. I think it's funny how you can forget what you're favorites were growing up. I was talking to someone about movies and they mentioned The Last Unicorn. I sort of remember the movie. My mom said I loved it and would ask to watch it everyday.
-Swiss Family Robinson (the older version) was a favourite of mine growing up. It had a little bit of everything: danger, strange animals, a family living in the coolest treefort ever. -I second The Last Unicorn. It's sad but beautiful. -Hocus Pocus is a Halloween movie but I love it anytime of the year!
My favorite family movies: - Toy Story - Finding Nemo - The Secret World of Arrietty - Howl's Moving Castle - Brave I think they are all great movies to watch with your family.
If your looking for some oldies that are mostly musicals, try Chitty chitty bang bang Bed knobs and broom sticks Mary Poppins Sound of Music
My favorite family movies are: The Little Rascals Home Alone The Problem Child Dennis The Menace Harry and the Hendersons It Takes Two
I saw Brave just few days ago. The movies is full of emotions and love of family members. Defenitely recommended to watch with family members and learn to value everyone.
Sound track to my child hood! Great recommendations. I might re-watch these myself. Other recommendations: Any pixar film Shrek 1 & 2
My family's favorites are kind of strange. We like watching "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," the "Back to the Future" trilogy, "Terminator 2" and "Step Brothers." lol They aren't really family hits or classics, but they are movies that we have seen at least 10+ times and always love watching them. We just watched the entire Back to the Future trilogy in one afternoon last week because we missed McFly!
I am a huge fan of 'Back to the Future'. Since your family likes that trilogy, why don't you try the original Star Wars trilogy. My nephews are big fans of the original Star Wars trilogy, and so am I. I was so obsessed with it that in 1977 I went to the movie theater 35 times to see the original movie. Of course that was back when it only cost you a buck to get in.
Yes, to most if not all of the above. I would add more Lauren Bacall somewhere in there. For even older classics, Mae Marsh.
Hmm..how old are your kids? I would recommend the following sports movies for kids: Little Giants Space Jam Remember the Titans Miracle
Our all-time favorites are, strangely, Disney animations. Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, among others. Besides these, we also do repeats of Jurassic Park, The Titanic and Home Alone.
I think the only family movie that I really enjoyed watching are the following: Are We Done Yet? The Blindside Pretty much that's all. I am not really a fan of movies like this but this movies somehow have tickled and touched me.
We join our sons' ages 2 & 5 and they enjoy the following: Madagascar 1,2&3 Monsters, Inc Finding Nemo Shrek 1,2 & 3 Incredibles Cars 1&2 Toys story
I'll list a few movies that I love and its family movies. Ice Age: Continental Drift Men in Black 3 The Lorax A Thousand Words The Odd Life of Timothy Green Perfect movies to watch with the family. Your kids will enjoy all of them also.
I would suggest the movies 8 Below, Garfield 1 and 2, Ratatouille, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Hachi: A Dog's Tale. I loved those movies, and they're family friendly too.
