I have been hearing of the values of alkaline water, how it's a great substance health wise. However, I have always wondered what is done or added to the water to make it that healthy. It doesn't seem that the water is obtained in an alkaline state at source. I would like to know what is done to the water to bring it to its alkaline state?
Production of alkaline water is a simple chemical process which involves the passing of an electric current through water in order to split it into hydrogen gas which escapes and hydroxyl ions. As the latter increase in concentration, the water increases in alkalinity.
