I'm with a state credit union. I refuse..........REFUSE to bank with a Federal conglomerate like Chase or Bank of America. I like to keep all things financial as local as I can.
I use Regions. I have been with them for many years, both as a checking and savings customer and as a loan customer (my first auto loan was with First American, which was bought out by Regions). I have nothing but good things to say about this bank and the people that work for them. They are incredible to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good bank.
I'm with Ally Bank and ING Direct (which is now Capital One) - I have no accounts at "branch" banks. I refuse to pay any fees for banks to have the privilege of holding onto my money for me. I won't open up an account anywhere that has monthly fees or membership fees. I've thought about a credit union account, but there are none in my area that have a good history and enough locations.
I am with chase bank, have been with them for years, I love all the features they have with taking picture of your check to deposit, I have my kids trust fund set up there to their rates were really good. they have a lot of good thing to offer their customers. I love their overdraft feature which allow you to get cash to last til you get paid overall they have been a great bank to me.
I currently have PNC Bank. I absolutely love them! They offer wonderful online resources. I do a lot of traveling and the online banking is perfect for me. They also have a great mobile app that helps when I am traveling or for when I am on the go. They have terrific customer service! They even offer online chats with live representatives!
Fellow Wells Fargo-er here. Now you need to have two checking accounts and a savings account, one automatic monthly transfer, and at least two transactions per debit card to avoid the $10 fee. So I've just given up on avoiding it. I'm stuck with Wells Fargo because of work, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. I really like Bank of America though. I have a lot of friends that bank with them. Chase has my car loan and a credit card and they've been wonderful
I'm with Barclays. It's only out of habit though. My child's bank account was opened with them and I've stuck ever since. They are quite a bad bank when it comes to overdrafts and charges, though I've never had a charge from them personally. In fact the only bank products that I've ever used are a current account and an ISA.
I just opened a savings account with Ally because I've thrown away a lot of money over the years on a Bank of America savings account that I paid monthly fees for but didn't save much money in. Ally has been painless so far. I wish I'd opened a free savings account years ago
I have PNC also. My parents made the account when I was younger. I'm not happy with them, and plan to switch to a new bank that makes more sense. They charge me overdraft fees even though I have overdraft coverage turned off, which I discussed with two people and neither could explain or fix it. They're going to start a minimum checking account balance of $500, with fines if it goes under that, which does not work as I don't have enough income to maintain that. They charge if you withdraw from your savings more than three times a month. And I don't get any benefits- I'm hoping to figure out a bank that gives me some sort of rewards for my spending, and switch to that. The everyday usage is easy, but the little things drive me away, as well as the desire for savings benefits.
My mom and I have PNC as well. We haven't had any problem with them. To me there isn't much of a difference with banks as they all seem to be pretty much the same (the only one I hate is BB&T which was our old bank) but I wouldn't feel comfortable switching since I know they're a good bank to us so far and I don't know for sure what the rest are like. I miss the PNC points. They still have them but they put too much restriction on them now.
I use Huntington because they are very close to my house and I have only heard good about them. So far, I am very satisfied with them
Because of the state of the country, I'm really glad I'm with a local bank. It's been a 'stable' bank and trust for over 60 years. If I didn't have that, I would still find a 'state' bank. I did have compass, wells fargo and bank of america. Now I'm glad I don't have them. So glad to have debit cards.
In my personal opinion, I cannot trust banks. The main reason was overdraft fees. Instead, I use my paypal card and account. It works just as well, if not better.
I'm with my local First National as well as the state credit union, PSECU. We love PSECU, and basically keep with FNB if we need to deposit or withdraw a certain kind of cash. We definitely prefer PSECU, but we had to "get in with them" via our car dealership when we took out our auto loan. Now that we are in, we just adore them.
I am with Umpqua Bank. It is a regional bank in my area. I have been very, very happy with them overall.
We're with Woodforest right now...not a bad experience but not sure we'll stick with them indefinitely either.
