I am looking for cheap but decent hosting for a project, but I'm also looking for some okay free hosting for more of a hobby blog. I don't want to go with blogspot or the free version of Word Press. Both seem to have issues, so I'd like to try something else if you have any experience in this area. As for paid hosting, I know there are a quite a few options, and I've seen some deals (like for HostGator). I'd like to hear about the ones you think are the best value (the most for your money without being too expensive), if you're willing to share. I guess a good question would be: what are the most important things to look for when shopping for hosting?
It depends on how complex your project is. A larger memory size use will demand a larger plan. For instance, the VPS hosting I use is incredibly expensive, but then again, I'm running five forums. There is no way those things would run on even the largest shared plan.
