I think this does affect the people around. I have found that a lot of people avoided Malaysia after their plane incident. And list goes on. It is possible that people think of things during that period. And may avoid going in those places during that time. I have found that it could be possible that some people may go for the travel. I think it takes time for such incidents to settle before things improve.
