Some people use threats to compel their ISP to lower their internet bills and usually Buckle since they require your business. This approach is not the best since there are bill negotiation services out there who will negotiate lower bills for you and you give them a percentage of the savings. If they don't succeed, you have nothing to lose. Would you use their services?
I don't think this is applicable in our country at all. In the first place, the rates are fixed as advertised on the internet provider's website. If one wants a lower internet bill, he can request to have the account downgraded or shift to another type of internet service. There is no need to hire third party services to do this. I doubt if the internet provider will even entertain third parties negotiating in behalf of a subscriber. You can't threaten ISPs if you're using an unlimited internet service + landline for a fixed monthly fee. The alternatives are more expensive if you're using the internet extensively because they impose data cap.
